Super Soul DC was created by the Chief Change Maker of Black Celebrity Giving (BCG), Jasmine Crowe, in 2013. The idea for Sunday Soul was to provide men, women and children in Atlanta experiencing homelessness with a hot, home-cooked meal complete with amazing volunteers and classic old school music.

On Sunday, April 3rd, BCG joined forces with friends Raheem DeVaughn, his LoveLife Foundation, Andrew Roby Events and Community Activist Tony Lewis, Jr. to host this pop-up  restaurant-style experience for those experiencing homelessness in the city of Washington, DC, complete with tables, chairs, linens and fresh flowers for the homeless.  Beyond just food and a wonderful dining experience, we provided over 300 care packages donated by the Akoma Foundation, 187 haircuts courtesy of 12 of DC’s top Local and Celebrity Barbers; and, introduced the Sunday Soul Pop-Up Restaurant to provide a 5-course meal (donated by 8 of DC’s Select Chefs and Bakers).

This was such a wonderful experience for everyone involved! The below image went viral! Haircut by Dexter of Millennium Salon (Silver Spring).
